In the context of the Dutch polder of TU Delft Science Park, these offices and laboratories form an autonomous shining entity in glass and white. Raised on a mound, or ‘terp’ in Dutch, two elegantly round volumes form this entity, and position themselves in such way to create a shared atrium between them.
Seen through the glass façade facing the highway to the East, large white sails flying high reveal themselves in the atrium, filtering light and reducing resonance for the social areas in the interior.
The round volumes connect with bridges and stairs. Already in the very first plan we sketched, the inscribed number 8 revealed itself, a symbol for infinity.
