This month marks the one-year anniversary of Petit Caron’s reopening, this time on the vibrant Frans Halsstraat.

It was a true pleasure to design this Bar-à-manger in close collaboration with the Caron Group. From the very first ideas to the final details, the process was fueled by trust, creativity, and a shared passion for places that bring people together.

The unique layout featuring three separate bars with cast terrazzo tops and refined brass detailing blurs the line between guest and host. It reflects the signature spirit of the Caron Group: welcoming, unpretentious, and always ready to pour a good glass of wine.

The rich red terrazzo floor, in harmony with oak wall panels inset with mirrors, enhances both the light and the atmosphere, creating a space that is as warm and sociable as it is elegant. Every detail, from the fully opening garage-style front to the carefully chosen materials, was designed to honour the open, historic character of the building, letting the energy of the street flow in and the spirit of hospitality flow out.

It’s a joy to see this vision brought to life and to see the space being used exactly as intended.
