Café Restaurant Riva is situated on the water of the river Amstel and is reached via a walkway. The design consists of two elements, the wooden part on the shore side where the functional spaces are located (i.a. the open kitchen), and the circular glass part, where the restaurant and bar can be found. The restaurant, spread out over two levels and interconnected by a void, is completely oriented on the water. The ground floor, which is barely one meter above the water level, is surrounded by a floating terrace.
