Vondelpark Residence is located in the Oud-Zuid area of Amsterdam, right at the Vondelpark. The proposal is a contextual, yet contemporary plan for five large high end condos with various amenities such as an underground swimming pool, wellness and fitness, parking and a garden looking out into the park. Its volume is the result of a careful analysis of the scale and sub-scale of the area’s historical villas. By abstracting this composition, Jardin blends in the streetscape without being a literal historical translation. The use of red brick further bridges the gap between the context of yesterday and rich detailing of tomorrow.

Each of the apartments has multiple terraces with views over the Vondelpark. From the elevator, residents directly enter their condo that has daylight from all sides. The serrated profile creates interesting and unique rooms on each floor, making each residence different. Extra high ceilings and a seamless connection between interior and exterior create a unique environment. From the park, the tall chimneys give the building a distinct silhouette without screaming for attention.
