Secluded in the Dutch countryside, at a stone’s throw away from the coast of Zeeland, an old barn house is re-imagined to become a retreat for those who seek personal and spiritual growth. For this purpose, the facilities include a number of guest rooms, (yoga) studios, a creative space, a communal living and dining area and an exhibition room. Central to the experience of the retreat is the attractive parkland and its swimming pond, bird lookout, sauna and bio-dynamic kitchen garden.

The former stable, built in the beginning of the 20th century, are preserved as much as possible and extended with three new volumes made of brick and wood. Inspired by the cloisters in European monasteries, the volumes are arranged around a central courtyard and connected by a covered walkway, to create the same sense of serenity.
