Dam & Partners Architecten thoroughly renovated and extended the Agnietenhof Theatre, built by the architects Holt and Bijvoet in 1969. A second auditorium was added, as well as new dressing rooms, a new raised fly tower and a sunken theatre café. To accommodate the second theatre space and the café, a new zinc oval volume was built, attached to the existing brick building by a glass foyer. The new ‘Rabot’ theatre space is specifically for small-scale stage and musical productions and the size of its stage and gallery can easily be adapted to the size of a production and its audience.
