The Bilderdijk Staete residential complex was designed for the former site of the Juliana Children’s Hospital on Bilderdijkkade in Amsterdam. The articulation of the complex in three protruding vertical sections creates two courtyards on the side of the quay, providing residents with the advantage of a canal view. The horizontal façade arrangement is dominated by the charcoal grey of the plinth, the light grey and white planes of the main volume and the glass strips of the penthouses that top the complex. On the Ter Haarstraat side, there is a shared entrance that leads to the green level of the courtyard.
