Inside this monumental property on the corner of Hobbemastraat and Vossiusstraat, Dam & Partners Architecten restored the stairwell and the period rooms on the first floor. The adjoining walled garden on Hobbemastraat is now the site of a modern extension, with a partly receding façade as a reminder of the old garden wall. Here, glass facades cover the entire first floor and half of the floor above it, which results in an interesting asymmetrical situation with the adjacent existing façade. The existing corner house accommodates the restaurant space, which is decorated in gold and grey with a facetted ceiling of gilded squares.
