Villa Aerdenhout

For a location in the dunes of Aerdenhout, Dam & Partners Architecten designed a villa that includes a residential section with a pointed zinc roof and a lower annex covered by a flat roof. The high volume accommodates all of the residential facilities, including a spacious kitchen-dining room with a built-on conservatory, separated from the garden and the terrace by a folding partition. The entrance and a study are situated in the low annex. A glass strip in the roof emphasizes the central cut that divides the interior in two. The unusual materials, chosen to attune the house to its green surroundings as much as possible, are dark grey stacked slate moulons, concrete, zinc and red cedar.
