Noah’s Ark
In collaboration with artist and designer Christoph Seyferth, Dam & Partners Architecten designed his ‘Noah’s Ark’, a rectangular block that accommodates a house, a studio and two apartments. The complex looks like a large shed, perhaps foreign but friendly in its urban location. The vertically arranged oak plank façades in no way betray what lies behind them – as long as the shutters are closed. When the shutters are open, the interior can be glimpsed. A large lockable underpass divides the spaces for clean and dirty work on the ground floor. The apartments on the first and the second floor are open spaces, divided into three sections only by the curves of the walls.
