NoMa House
NoMa House, a hyper-modern office building, was built in the centre of Amsterdam’s Financial Mile on the last unoccupied plot, across from the entrance to Station Amsterdam Zuid (Amsterdam South Station). It stands on the corner of two major arteries – Gustav Mahlerlaan and Parnassusweg. The concept is entirely contemporary: NoMA House provides space to meet and offers a comfortable working environment.
NoMa House is designed as a composition of light transparent volumes surrounding a garden in the heart of the building and beautiful roof terraces for additional light, air and a sense of space. The natural stone façades and elegant details give the building international allure. This is further enhanced in the design of the façade, as its scale increases towards the top. Storey-high windows and a spectacular glass entrance – through which the indoor garden is visible – give the building an inviting, accessible and transparent appearance.
Diederik Dam: ‘This building is elegant and refined. It contains a rich layering of materials, composition and design, leading you to discover and see more and more. NoMA House is a relatively small and exclusive building with a tremendous and concentrated measure of quality. The result is a place in which it is a privilege to work, to collaborate and to receive business associates and guests.’
The building is extremely energy-efficient (Breeam Outstanding) and supremely flexible, which will make it easy to implement new layout concepts in the future.
